2021 Chevrolet Colorado

What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado?

Among the changes to all Chevy Colorado trims in 2021 are a facelift and more standard features. Colorado gets a new look for the latest model year with some design differences on its front end for a more chiseled look. Each trim level of the Chevrolet Colorado now also gets the Chevrolet logo in bold lettering across its back end. Every Chevy Colorado comes stocked with amenities starting at the base trim level, with standard safety features onboard from the base trim going to the highest trim. A healthy selection of engines provides many options for power, and a handful of options for each trim offers many choices for a custom finish. The ZR2 trim, which is the top trim level, gets its own set of updates with more off-road accents.

Which Features Are Available for 2021?

The trim level lineup has been modified for 2021 to have four trim levels. The base trim from 2020 is no longer offered as an option. While there are fewer trim levels, all trims get more features. Many conveniences are standard at the base level, including a user-friendly infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While a seven-inch display is standard to start on the WT, you can upgrade to an eight-inch display on the LT's second trim.

The LT also swaps out a six-speaker audio system for an optional seven-speaker Bose. A power-adjustable liftgate is added to the LT, along with an attractive leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Z71 begins the off-road Colorado series. The Z71 has custom upholstery and a suspension system designed for off-road travel. It also rides on all-terrain tires. The ZR2 adds to that list, special dampers, a raised suspension, and even sturdier all-terrain tires.

Featuring Great Performance

Most trims have the same base engine, but you can choose two additional engines as an upgrade. At a minimum, the Colorado provides 200 horsepower with a four-cylinder engine. This engine comes with a six-speed transmission. The available gasoline engine is a V6 with an increased power output of 308 HP. The diesel engine, also available, generates 181 HP of peak power.

2021 Chevrolet Colorado Safety Features

A steel cage surrounds the Colorado to mitigate the force of an impact, and all trims get airbags for all occupants. An OnStar safety system is available for the base trim, while the LT gets automatic emergency braking. The Z71 adds those features plus hill descent control.
