At the recent 2026 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, Chevrolet reached a significant milestone in its charitable history. A custom 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X was auctioned for a remarkable $2.6 million, with every cent of the final price benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This non-profit is well-known for providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families and the families of fallen first responders.

The Corvette ZR1X is 1-of-1

Chevrolet understands that the legacy of the ZR1X is defined by more than just performance numbers. The vice president of Global Chevrolet noted that this 1-of-1 edition was crafted to honor the men and women who serve the country. As the quickest production car in the nation, this Corvette ZR1X symbolizes gratitude, with auction proceeds supporting veterans and first responders across the United States.

The winning bidder was Rick Hendrick, the chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group and Hendrick Motorsports. His new acquisition features a "Stars & Steel" design theme, which was meticulously hand-painted by the General Motors Design Fabrication team. The car is accented with blue calipers and other custom blue interior and exterior touches. It is powered by a high-performance twin-turbocharged V8 engine designed for longevity and power.

Frank Siller, CEO of Tunnel to Towers, expressed his gratitude for the gift, stating that Chevrolet and General Motors have been steadfast partners in honoring those who sacrifice for America. This donation will help the foundation fulfill its promise never to forget fallen heroes and to support injured veterans in maintaining their independence.

For over a decade and a half, Chevrolet has partnered with Barrett-Jackson to raise funds for various causes, totaling $15.5 million to date. Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson emphasized that the ZR1X is a truly exceptional vehicle that holds a unique place in automotive history.
