Although many people know the Chevrolet Corvette for its speed and performance, the Corvette is now also helping to raise awareness for breast cancer. Chevrolet has partnered with the American Cancer Society for 15 years, and to celebrate this ongoing collaboration, Chevrolet is introducing a bold pink Corvette as the official pace vehicle for the NASCAR Cup Series. The goal is to raise awareness and support for the fight against breast cancer.
Chevrolet and the American Cancer Society Combine Forces
For 15 years, Chevrolet has supported the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign launched by the American Cancer Society. To recognize this milestone, Chevrolet has designed a bold pink Corvette that will serve as the official pace vehicle at both Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway. Chevrolet aims to encourage NASCAR fans to get involved and help raise awareness for breast cancer. For every caution lap completed by the pink Corvette in these races, Chevrolet will donate $500 to breast cancer awareness, up to $25,000. Additionally, Chevrolet will donate $1,500 for every Team Chevy driver who finishes in the top 10, up to $25,000. In 2024, this program raised nearly $19,000 for the American Cancer Society, and the auction of last year's race vehicle provided additional support.
About “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”
The "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" initiative is a significant undertaking—it's the largest breast cancer awareness campaign in the country. Beyond sponsoring events like NASCAR races, it gives everyone a chance to participate, especially through the organized walks that take place all over the US. This campaign is all about wrapping a supportive community around breast cancer survivors, the wonderful people caring for them, and their families, even helping them out financially.
