What's New for the 2020 Chevrolet Sonic?

The Chevrolet Sonic is no longer available in manual transmission as of 2020. It also is no longer available with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine as of this year. All engines are six-speed automatics with 1.4-liter turbocharged engines. Two colors are newly available this year, including Oasis Blue and Cayenne Orange Metallic.

The 2020 Chevrolet Sonic continues to be a subcompact vehicle that offers ample space. All three trims - LS, LT and Premier -  are available in the sedan body style. The top two trim levels - LT and Premier - are also available as hatchbacks.

The LS sedan offers antilock brakes, one month free of Chevrolet Connected and one month free of OnStar coverage. Similarly, the LT sedan offers everything the LS sedan provides but with the addition of fifteen-inch aluminum wheels, heated power outside mirrors, and a six-speaker sound system instead of a four-speaker sound system.

The Premier sedan and hatchback trim offer the same features as the previous models, but with additional features like upgrades to aluminum seventeen-inch wheels and leather seats and keyless start.

The standard technological features in the 2020 Chevrolet Sonic include 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot capability, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM® Radio trial subscription, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Chevy Sonic can hold up to 47.7 cubic feet of cargo. It is also very fuel-efficient as the turbocharged engine uses EcoTech technologies. The exterior is available in nine electrifying and exciting colors, including Summit White and Oasis Blue.

As mentioned above, the engine is operated by a 1.4-liter, turbocharged engine providing an output of 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Both the sedan and the hatchback option are front-wheel drive with a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission for a consistently smooth drive.

Other available safety features offered on this year's model are lane change assistance, collision warning, and parking assistance.
