What's New for the 2022 Chevy Trax?

In 2022, the most significant update for the Chevy Trax is a new and more powerful engine. The 2022 Trax comes with a boost in power due to the new engine, which delivers 155 HP in top power. The Trax was previously available with an engine capable of 138 HP in maximum power. More torque comes with the updated base engine for the Trax, and you can choose from one of two drivetrains. Along with the boost in power, the Chevy Trax is still a popular small SUV for its comfortable cabin that has generous amounts of space for the SUV's small size. The cargo area is also cleverly designed to maximize room, and you can get a variety of cargo organizers. There are many safety aids and tech features with both trim levels as well. Multiple packages can be added to either or both trim levels if you want even more components.

2022 Trax Trims & Features

The 2022 Chevy Trax comes in just two trim levels. The base trim, called the LS, has four cup holders in the cabin to make it easy to take along your favorite beverages. The LS has cloth upholstery for its seats, while the top trim, which is the LT, has upgraded seating material that combines cloth and simulated leather. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard on the LS. It also has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You'll get Bluetooth with the Chevy Trax as well. You'll get one 12V charger at the base level, and the LT adds a second 120V power charger as well.

Along with the standard infotainment system, you will also get a separate 3.5-inch display for the driver. Upgraded LED lights are exclusive to the LT, and it also has roof rails and heated exterior mirrors. Heated front seats are available through a package, and you can also get a power-adjustable driver's seat. Keyless entry is also an option.

2022 Chevy Trax Horsepower

The new base engine provides the first and second trims of the Trax with more power in 2022. The 2022 Trax has a turbo 1.4L gasoline engine. Using four cylinders, the enhanced engine for the Trax can reach 155 HP in maximum power, and its torque output is 177 LB-FT. The engine is connected to an automatic transmission with six speeds. All-wheel drive is optional.

Chevy Trax Safety

In 2022, the Trax will have standard front and side airbags. Seat belts are also standard, and both trims have a backup camera. Blind-spot monitoring is available for the LT.
