What's New for the 2019 Chevy Equinox?

In the universe of compact sports utility vehicles, it doesn't get much better than the Chevrolet Equinox, a clever take on the category that puts its own spin on the more affordable SUVs of the world. This year you'll see a lot of new features, better engine configurations, and a much bolder exterior. Let's take a look at everything you have to look forward to when you meet the 2019 Equinox!

Which Options are Included in the Four Trims?

In 2019, you'll get four bold trims: L, LS, LT, and Premier (along with some very sporty configurations on the Premier). The L is front-wheel drive only but comes in luxurious and sporty colors like Silver Ice Metallic and Summit White. Go up some trims and you'll be amazed at what Chevy gives you in this more than economical vehicle. In all, there are 14 bold colors to choose from on the palette.

The 1LT trim is going to give you amazing optional things like 19" all-season blackwall tires and LED tail lamps. You can expect the 2LT model to feature to give you a leather-wrapped steering wheel for luxury you rarely see in a vehicle of this price tag.

The Premier seats 5, giving you more flexibility over your passenger space, and you're obviously going to see ample upgrades in the Premier and LT models, including all-wheel drive. In addition, you're going to have the option to enjoy a turbo boosted engine, something that the 2018 model simply didn't have.

You'll love the 7-inch touchscreen as well, which comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two things that should pretty much be standard on all vehicles these days but sadly isn't. Don't worry. The Equinox includes this great feature standard.

Under the Hood of the Powerful Equinox

2019 GMC Acadia Each trim is going to bring its own horsepower, so let's take a look under the hood. Three distinct engine choices will give you between 137 horsepower and 252 horsepower. Perhaps the most eye-catching is the 1.6-liter I-4 diesel engine in the LT w/3LT. This version comes in all-wheel or front-wheel drive.

Not big on diesel, no worries! You'll get a 1.5-liter I-4 engine in the L, LS, and LT in their standard configurations. The LT w/2LT is going to give you an impressive 252 horsepower via a 2.0-liter I-4 premium engine. The premier has all three engine choices available, ranging from 170 horsepower to 252 horsepower. The emphasis here is on choice, and if you want diesel? Chevy made sure that you have it.

Safety in the Forefront of the 2019 Chevy Equinox

2019 GMC Acadia Lift GateSafety is perhaps the one area where Chevy has really sat down and done some soul-searching. With brand new features like automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and pedestrian detection (in the Premier trim) the Equinox demonstrates that Chevrolet has a strong commitment to creating a safe vehicle. They succeeded in doing just that, making this one of the vehicles to watch for safety features in 2019.

If you're ready to get behind the wheel and see all of the luxurious features, along with the diesel engine, then you need to give us a call today and schedule a test drive.
