What's New for the 2019 Chevy Blazer?

In the past, customers and auto critics would agree that the Chevy Blazer has often blended in with its competitors. But this year, Chevy gave the Blazer a much-needed exterior design change and added a host of new interior gadgets. The result is an impressive, head-turning vehicle that you will be proud to call your own, no matter which of the three trim levels you choose. The Blazer can chalk up its good looks this year to a new grille that highlights the Chevy logo. The grille's oversize design ensures you can't miss it.

Chevy calls the Blazer appearance "uniquely aggressive," which is fitting for its unusual design of narrow, elongated daytime running lights, dynamic fog lights, and sloped hood. Chrome accents give the Blazer a distinct look, while available 21-inch wheels will make your neighbors envious. An impressive array of standard features inside, including a diagonal color touchscreen and a 4G hotspot, ensure that you look forward to the longest car rides. Along with the standard features, a variety of optional amenities at each trim level gives you every chance to personalize your ride. The Blazer can be ordered in 11 different paint colors to give it a look that matches your personal preferences.

Which Features are Available for 2019?

Three trim levels are available in the new-and-improved Chevy Blazer. The base model is called the Blazer. Even on this trim level, you'll get many standard features that other automakers would charge extra for. The infotainment center, for instance, is a large eight-inch screen. A 4G hotspot is available so that you can stay connected with the world on the road. The infotainment system supports Android Auto, hands-free calling, and Apple CarPlay. The addition of a Marketplace feature to the infotainment system lets you make purchases quickly and conveniently. While front-wheel drive is standard, you have the choice of upgrading to all-wheel drive instead. When fully equipped, the Blazer can tow a maximum of 4,500 pounds. Cloth is the default for the seating material in the Blazer, but you can get leather seats instead for an added price.

The mid-level Blazer is the RS. This one gets a larger and more powerful standard engine. The exterior has more distinct styling cues, including blacked-out accents and a classic Chevy grille. While leather seats are optional in the Blazer, they are standard in the RS and up. Suede inserts make the RS's seats even more comfortable. Instead of a six-speaker sound system, you'll get a more impressive eight-speaker Bose audio system. The Premier has a chrome-accented horizontal front grille, chrome accents along its exterior, and sporty roof rails. The seats are made of an even more comfortable perforated leather material, and they're available in two colors. The infotainment system in the Premier is even more sophisticated and convenient with the addition of navigation.

Chevy Blazer Performance

You can upgrade to a more powerful V6 engine that has a direct fuel injection system. This engine tops out at 305 HP. The four-cylinder engine, in contrast, reaches a top performance of 193 HP. Both engines take regular gasoline, and they are both matched to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Chevy Blazer Safety In the Forefront

Seven well-placed airbags throughout the cabin are designed to minimize injury if the car is in an accident. The standard backup camera comes in handy when you're trying to reverse, and a suite of available features such as lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and following distance indicator are designed to keep accidents from happening.
