Chevrolet Reveals Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype at Daytona

In anticipation of this year's “legendary DAYTONA 500 race,” Chevrolet introduced the new Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype. Although it never raced, this forward-thinking concept hints at what electric race cars will become. Here's a look at its most notable attributes.

High-Performance Electric Powertrain

Ditching the classic V8, the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype runs on an all-electric powertrain. Its trio of six-phase motors generates about 1,300 horsepower and spins up to 15,000 rpm.

A programmable all-wheel drive system manages that power, delivering precise torque to each wheel. Set on a modified Next Gen chassis, it also features competition-grade suspension parts and Goodyear Racing Eagle rubber.

True Race Car Styling

Visually, the EV.R borrows its silhouette from the “road-going Chevrolet Blazer SS EV,” but its race-ready enhancements are clear. A broad body and high-mounted rear wing optimize airflow, while the ultra-low stance keeps it glued to the track.

Motorsports Innovation

The EV.R NASCAR Prototype serves as a testbed for cutting-edge racing tech that will eventually filter into future motorsport efforts and customer cars.
