The Silverado EV ZR2 Tackles The Mint 400

Over the years, Chevrolet has engineered a lineup of remarkably capable pickup trucks. The Silverado EV ZR2 concept recently took on the legendary Mint 400 off-road race. This all-electric contender successfully navigated a demanding 73-mile loop, proving its mettle on unforgiving terrain. Chevrolet also showcased the gasoline-powered Silverado ZR2 and Colorado ZR2 in the same competition.

Impressive Performance

The Silverado EV ZR2's tri-motor electric drive system produces around 1,100 horsepower and a staggering 11,500 pound-feet of torque. Enthusiasts will appreciate its heart-pounding acceleration and formidable towing capacity. During the Mint 400, the EV ZR2 demonstrated its endurance, still retaining 40 percent of its battery charge upon crossing the finish line.

Dedicated Off-Road Enhancements

Chevrolet outfitted the Silverado EV ZR2 concept with specialized off-road gear. Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve dampers deliver more than 13 inches of wheel travel at both ends. Locking differentials boost grip in slick or uneven conditions. Additional rugged features include underbody skid plates, 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tires, and an elevated suspension for superior clearance.

2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss Arrives Soon

Chevrolet will roll out the Silverado EV Trail Boss this summer. This off-road-focused model boasts a factory lift kit, signature red tow hooks, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and a newly developed Terrain Mode. Now, adventurers can embrace electric power without sacrifice.
