Slated to hit Kenny Kent Chevy this fall, the brand-new Silverado High Desert package will tackle all your outdoor adventures with ease. Featuring an all-new lockable and water-resistant cargo system, refined styling and an available Magnetic Ride Control suspension on the High Country trim, this package is definitely worth a look.
The exclusive Chevy edition is offered on the following new Chevy Silverado grades: LT, LTZ and High Country. “The High Desert package blends the capability and utility of Silverado with the refinement and luxury of Suburban,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet truck marketing. “It’s ideal for those customers who want both the security of a lockable cargo area, as well as the flexibility of a pickup truck bed.”
The new lockable unit can be installed over the roll-formed steel bed, adding side storage bins that are roomy enough to hold all your work gear. Inside, a cargo divider can be raised to keep smaller items in place, or lowered to access the full length of the bed floor. In addition, every Chevy Silverado High Desert model comes standard with Magnetic Ride control suspension, which delivers more exact body motion control by constantly monitoring the road and making damping adjustments. LT High Desert models get 20’’ alloys while 22’’ alloys can be had on the higher trims. All High Desert Silverado trucks get all-terrain tires at no extra charge.
Silverado’s EcoTec3 6.2L V8 is optional on LTZ and High Country and come with Chevy’s new Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission. The powerplant produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.
