What's New for the 2022 Chevy Suburban?

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban has a few changes from the previous year. An example is that the 420 horsepower option with the V8 engine is now much more widely available on more trims. All trims besides the base LS one have a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster now that you can customize. There's also a new infotainment system that has extra features like the voice assistant, including also maps and the app store.

2022 Suburban Trims and Features

The trim levels start at the Suburban LS. This is the basic level that you start out using. It has the V8 engine as well as the tri-zone climate control, seats you can adjust eight ways, as well as an eight-inch touchscreen for infotainment.

The next level is called the LT. It has everything that you get in LS plus a few more features. For example, you get the power tailgate for easy loading in the back. There's an upgrade to the Bose nine-speaker sound system. There's also an upgrade to the leather trim for the first two rows. The digital driver information and display screen is increased to 12.3 inches. The infotainment screen goes up to 10.2 inches.

The RST trim has what the LT has, but the wheels get upgraded to 22 inches. You get black roof-mounted rails on the side. They add wheel locks. There's an upgrade in materials to perforated leather seats. There's also the option for the 6.2-liter V8 engine.

The Z21 option includes recovery hooks, skid plates, and four-wheel drive standards.

Upgrading the Premiere trim gives you magnetic ride control. The audio system is upgraded to the 10-speaker Bose surround system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Finally, the High Country trim adds the turbo-diesel option. It upgrades the wheels to 22-inch alloy wheels. You get a rear pedestrian alert and an HD 360 camera system.

The full possible engine power with all options is 420 hp with the 3.0 six-cylinder option. This goes with a 10-speed auto transmission.
