New Corvette Concepts To Inspire the Future of Corvette Design

While neither of these bold Corvette concepts is destined for showroom floors, they provide a thrilling look at future possibilities. The Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo demonstrate the inventiveness of Chevrolet's global design studio and celebrate Chevy's performance legacy.

Corvette CX Concept

The Corvette CX is a street-legal supercar with an aggressive presence. Its wide stance and sculpted bodywork are instantly attention-grabbing. Arguably, the most striking detail is the canopy inspired by fighter jets, which opens automatically as you approach.

Power comes from an AWD electric architecture with four motors. Chevy lists output at an eye-watering 2,000 horsepower for ferocious acceleration. The lithium-ion battery is placed low in the chassis to improve weight distribution, while four-wheel torque vectoring enhances cornering. The innovative Vacuum Fan System routes air through the open body to create added downforce.

Inside, the Corvette CX focuses on the driver with a cockpit-centric layout. High-end touches like forged carbon fiber cover the cabin. Drivers receive live performance info through a digital windscreen, and many controls are embedded in the race-like steering wheel to keep attention on driving.

Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a purebred track car featured in Gran Turismo 7. This mid-engine racer uses a twin-turbo V8 that makes 900 horsepower and spins up to an incredible 15,000 rpm. A trio of electric motors complements the engine, bringing total output to 2,000 horsepower, and renewable e-fuel helps maintain sustainability without trimming performance.

Since it's made for the track only, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo has a pared-down interior for weight savings—the heavily bolstered seats secure occupants during aggressive track driving.
